- Changes in Behavior
Look for increased moodiness or sudden shifts in mood, depression, hostility, hypersensitivity, loss of interest in previous activities or hobbies, awareness with the drug culture and haunts, and dishonesty or deception.
- Changes in Friends
At CautionZone.com we believe if you want to know your child, look at his/her friends. Peer pressure in the teen years is more powerful than any of us adults realize. Pay particular attention to the friends. Go with your first instincts and follow up. Watch for new or different friends who are very abnormal appearance, behavior or goals.
- Changes in School Performance
Watch for lower grades, frequent tardiness or sluggish behavior, absenteeism, falling asleep in class and discipline problems.
- Physical Evidence
Strange odors is on of the best indicators. Police officers often use the "sniff" for search grounds on cannabis products. Another big indicator is covering up odors. It may be perfume or it may be several car fresheners in the car. This is another big indicator to detect possible drug use. Signs include red eyes, decrease in cleanliness and general regression in look and demeanor.
