- Hide a business card or two down door panels, and under seats.
- Etch the VIN (vehicle identification number) on windows, under hood and trunk, and onto expensive accessories.
- Disable your vehicle when leaving it unattended for an extended period of time e.g. remove coil wire, ignition fuse, or rotor distributor. (ask your mechanic and get him to show you)
NEVER EVER leave the keys in the ignition - unless your are driving.
- USE AN ANTI-THEFT DEVICE - We recommend the CLUB because it seems to deter the crooks. There are other visible deterrents such as audible alarms, steering column locks, theft deterrent decals as well as ignition and fuel kill switches. Any indication of an alarm or anti-theft device will probably make the auto thief look for another vehicle to steal.
- WHAT TO DO - If your vehicle is broken into, or stolen, inform the police immediately. Ensure you give them the correct information on your vehicle i.e. make, model color, style, correct VIN and License Plate number.
